Western Cape Transport MEC, Bonginkosi Madikizela, says he expects amendments to be made in the current travel and curfew regulations.

At the moment, there is a once-off opportunity for people to travel long distance to return to their place of work.

But public transports services are prohibited from operating between 20h00 and 05h00.

People have until Thursday the 7th of May 2020 to reach their destinations, after which inter-provincial travel will again be prohibited.

The MEC said he approached his counterpart, Minister Fikile Mbalula following complaints.

Madikizela said that he’s confident the changes will be made soon.
