There’s a fundraising initiative on the go and the founding member of Alex Hospice is currently on a road show to create awareness around this passion project of hers.

Alex Hospice was birthed from a place of identifying the need to create a caring facility that encompasses HOPE and DIGNITY for the Alexandra Township in Johannesburg. Retired professional nurse and powerhouse, Sister Grace Marutlulle, carries the heart of Alex Hospice, creating space and safety for the neglected and terminally ill within the community.
Alex Hospice is a critical health service centre for Alexandra Township and outlying areas that services a population of 900 000+. It is the only hospice accessible and affordable within the area and has proven itself as a provider of quality hospice services and support which continues to have a positive impact on the community.
The organisation officially started operating in 2003, whilst the planning and other preparations began in August of 2001.
