Eight hundred and thirty one new cases of Covid-19 have been detected in South Africa, the health ministry said on Saturday, as the total number of case nudged up to 14 355.
“Regrettably we report a further 14 Covid-19 related deaths – this brings the total national deaths to 261,” said Health Minister Zweli Mkhize in his daily bulletin.
The total number of recoveries to date is 6478.
There were warnings that traveling between provinces during the inter-provincial period had seen a spike in numbers in various regions.
This period was to allow those who had been on lockdown to get home, or change locations due to work.
