Over the past two week’s we’ve ask you to tell us about worthy organisations serving our youth in various communities and we’ve received so many. Usually at this time, we shut down our main studios, jump in our vehicles and hit the roads around the Western Cape to connect with communities and people in those communities who make a meaningful difference.
In saying this, we received an email from Megan Eagles nominating the Won Life Organisation.
“I would like to nominate an organisation called Won Life (https://www.wonlife.org.za/), Won Life is a registered non-profit organisation (NPO) working in the community of Fisantekraal delivering services in the areas of health and education. They have been providing Weekly Food Parcels for the families of the 120 children that currently attend Won Life’s Early Learning Centre. And that’s not all… they also handed out material face masks for each of the learners with appropriate instructions on how to use it and hygiene care. They have also handed out their pattern forming books with crayons so that they could apply themselves with some 1st term revision and every week they have been adding something new to the learners packs, so that they do not fall behind regarding what they should be learning at school. They are doing amazing work in the community, many of these kids rely heavily on the meals that they received when they were at school. I know we have many lockdown legends all over Cape Town at the moment but really do hope that Won Life is selected. Everything is done for the love of the kids and the community. The director Lance Turner does all the grocery shopping himself and has 3 of the ladies that work at Early Learning Centre helping him pack and hand out.”
We would like to Thank our partners at Mc Donald’s for supporting the 16 Days for Youth Initiative and coming on board with the Won Life Organisation, they have donated R5000 towards the community.
