The results of a probe into the fatal George building collapse, should be finalised by the end of 2025.

In the meantime, Western Cape Premier Alan Winde and Infrastructure MEC Tertuis Simmers have received an update from the province’s investigator.

But, they’re not sharing what’s contained in the report.

The province had approached an independent structural engineering firm to probe the cause of the collapse of the apartment building in May.

This, in addition to multiple other investigations that have been commissioned.

SAPS and the Department of Employment and Labour, are looking into the incident, in which at least 34 workers had died.

Winde says he understands the frustration to finalise the matter and hopes it will be concluded soon.
