City of Cape Town bosses want those involved in the murder of its official, Wendy Kloppers, to face the full wrath of the law.

Warren-Lee Dennis appeared in the Cape Town Magistrate’s Court, on Tuesday.

The case has been remanded until Thursday the 27th of June.

Dennis has also been charged with attempted murder and illegal possession of a firearm.

Kloppers was shot dead at a housing construction site in Delft in February 2023, while another person was wounded.

The municipality conceded that shooting was part of a trend of violence, including petrol bombings, directed at the housing project.

Mayco member for Human Settlements, Carl Pophaim, says the City continues to do all it can to ensure the city’s service and housing delivery programmes continue.

“This case is paramount to one, bring justice for Wendy, and two to send a strong message that as a Cape Town community and City administration, we will stand together with the beneficiaries, communities, officials and contractors who operate lawfully to stop our sector in human settlements from being captured”.
