A manhunt is underway for suspects who are believed to be behind the murder of a police officer in Khayelitsha.
It’s understood that a group of about six men ambushed two police officers who were busy attending to a complaint in the area on Monday night.
Western Cape police commissioner, Khombinkosi Jula says “when we protect members of the community we become targets”.
Jula added that his men and women in blue are concerned about the latest incident.
The provincial Community Safety Department is offering a reward of R100 000 for anyone with information on the cop’s murder.
The department’s labelled it an ”outright attack on the state”.
