The Western Cape Community Police Forum Board is appealing to the national police to find long-lasting solutions to the ongoing mass murders in Khayelitsha.
In yet another incident in the township, three people were shot dead and two others were wounded in Harare, earlier this week.
Just over two weeks ago, a man was killed and four others sustained gunshot wounds in an attack in Site B.
The board’s Francina Lucas says the lack of adequate police resources in the area is a big problem.
“We call on the Minister of Police and the MEC for the police in the Western Cape to work together to make sure we have more boots on the ground, more police officers are deployed to the area.”
