Finance Minister Enoch Godondwana may have reversed the VAT increase.

But, there are still parliamentary processes that need to be followed before it’s a done deal.

On Thursday, National Treasury confirmed that the 0.5%  VAT hike on the 1st of May…. will not go ahead.

Arthur Pose reports…..

Several political parties are claiming responsibility for the reversal of the VAT hike.

Earlier, the DA said its litigation… led to the current developments.

Here’s the DA’s Federal Council chairperson, Helen Zille.

But, the jury’s out on who won this battle.

Eleven parties including the ANC, Action SA, Rise Mzansi and Good… claim it’s their deliberations that ultimately led to the about-turn.

They’ve all slammed the DA’s decision… to take credit for National Treasury’s move.

Here’s Action SA’s leader, Herman Mashaba.

And Rise Mzansi’s Songezo Zibi has this to say.
