The South African Government commits to continue talks with the United States of America, as the tariff deadline looms.
The country is among several nations that will be hit by higher import tariffs… which come into effect on Friday the 1st of August.
US President Donald Trump, announced plans to impose a 30% tariff increase, on South African exports to his country.
Our government has since defended its decision, not to retaliate as talks are still underway.
The Trade, Industry and Competition Department is adamant that negotiations remain the best tool, to deal with the issues that are on the table.
