Transport unions, are rejecting national government’s plans to involve the private sector in South Africa’s port and rail industries.

The National Transport Department recently launched an online Request for Information  to boost trade and investment.

The country’s port and rail infrastructure faces major challenges,  including poor performance, vandalism and under investment.
