Western Cape Detectives have arrested two more suspects in connection with the murder of five people in Endlovini, Khayelitsha.
This brings the total number of suspects linked to the shooting to three.
The third suspect, Madoda Zwayi, remains behind bars. He’s expected to return to court on Friday, 13 May.
Four men and a woman were gunned down in the Endlovini informal settlement in March.
The two recently-arrested men, aged 25 and 28, will appear in the Khayelitsha Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday.
Provincial police spokesperson Brigadier Novela Potelwa says the suspects were arrested in the Eastern Cape and Endlovini.
“In relation to the arrest of the 25-year-old suspect, the investigation took the integrated teams comprising detectives, intelligence officials, and Eastern Cape police to Cala in the Eastern Cape — where the suspect was apprehended. Meanwhile, the second suspect, aged 28 — who had given the police the runaround — was arrested in Khayelitsha on Tuesday. An unlicensed firearm, believed to be the murder weapon for the five murders, was found in his possession. An additional charge of possession of illegal possession of a firearm was added to the murder charge he faces.”
