Nine people, including two police officers have been arrested for allegedly robbing a Post Office in Macassar, Cape Town.
It’s understood that the suspects entered the Post Office in Hospital Street, on Wednesday.
They then fled with an undisclosed amount of cash, as well as electoral equipment.
But the police’s swift response led to the arrest of the suspects in the Harare area, in Khayelitsha.
The police spokesperson Sergeant Wesley Twigg says the suspects will appear in court soon.
“Nine suspects aged between 21 and 47 were arrested and detained on a charge of business robbery and will make a court appearance once they have been charged. Further investigation into this case discovered that two of the suspects are SAPS members. The investigation into the matter continues”.
