Two women have been found dead in two separate incidents in Cape Town over the past week.

The body of a woman who’s believed to be in her 30’s was found at Macassar Beach on Saturday.

The police spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Malcolm Pojie says the body was discovered floating in shallow waters.

“Police investigators and forensic experts combed the scene for clues at Macassar beach where the body of a woman in her 30-ties was found after police was alerted at about 07:00 Saturday 27th of May of a body floating in shallow waters. The unknown body was handed to Pathology Forensic Services. An Autopsy will be conducted in the week to determine the cause of death. Macassar SAPS has opened an Inquest docket for further investigation”.

Meanwhile, police say no arrests have been made in connection with the murder of a woman outside the Wynberg Magistrate’s Court.

The victim was shot dead last week Thursday.

According to some media reports, the woman was a witness in a criminal case.

But Pojie says the motive of the attack is unknown.

“Wynberg detectives are probing a murder that was perpetrated on the corners of Church and Broady Roads in Wynberg,  on Thursday. Preliminary reports reveal that the unknown deceased was walking in the street near the court when she was approached by unknown gunmen who started shooting at her, wounding her fatally. She succumbed to injury on the scene and was declared dead by medical personnel. The motive for the murder is part of the police probe”.
