Donald Trump has made history as the first convicted felon to assume the office of the US president.
Last year, he was found guilty on 34 charges related to a scheme to illegally influence the 2016 election through hush money payments to a porn actor who allegedly had a sexual encounter with him.
Despite the conviction, there was no constitutional barrier preventing Trump from pursuing the presidency.
Yesterday, he was sworn in as the 47th president of the United States.
Speaking to Heart FM News, American security and foreign relations expert Johanna Le Blanc says he’s not violating the U.S. Constitution.
