Tourism in the Western Cape is seemingly on the up, with more local and international travellers visiting the province.
According to the provincial government, there has been a recovery of 33% recorded in the 2021/22 financial year compared to pre-pandemic levels.
The figure is expected to rise to 55% in the current financial year.
The Democratic Alliance says it’s encouraged by the number of international travellers continuing to choose the Western Cape as a tourist destination.
The party’s Gillion Bosman says it is picking up pace at a faster rate than the national average.
“International travel has massive benefits for the provincial economy, and an important part of attracting visitors is to make sure that our airports are world-class. The DA is committed to making sure that every obstacle to economic growth is addressed as a matter of urgency”.
