Western Cape detectives attached to the Serious and Violent Crimes Unit are probing yet another mass murder in Cape Town.

Three men were shot dead in Mfuleni, on Tuesday.

They were sitting in their vehicle in New Beginnings when six armed suspects ambushed them.

The shooting comes after at least 13 people were killed in three separate mass shootings last week.

Of that number, ten victims were in Gugulethu.

The police spokesperson Colonel Andrè Traut says the motive of the attack is yet to be determined.

“It is believed that six armed men approached the three victims aged 29, 30 and 44 at around 15:00 while they were sitting in their vehicle at Fountain Heads in New Beginnings, Mfuleni and opened fire, killing all three on the scene. The suspects fled in a Toyota Avanza and are yet to be apprehended. Any person who can shed light on the circumstances of the incident is kindly requested to contact Crime Stop on 08600 10111, or use the My SAPS mobile application to relay the information”.
