Theewaterskloof communities have praised the Western Cape Government’s intervention.
Provincial authorities have stepped in to rescue the municipality from its financial woes.
The municipality is apparently struggling with debt, severe cash flow issues and slow revenue collection.
The province says these issues have knock-on effects on service delivery.
The Villiersdorp Ratepayers Association’s, Stefanus Cronje, says service delivery in his town has been severely impacted.
Meanwhile, Deon Kruse from the Caledon Ratepayers Association, feels this intervention is long overdue.
HeartFM News has, repeatedly, reached out to the municipality.
But, a spokesperson says no comments will be made at this stage.
