
The wife of former Springbok coach, Peter de Villiers, has died.
She drowned in a swimming pool, while visiting family in Gqeberha.
Police there opened an inquest docket; saying no foul play is suspected.
Theresa de Villiers was 62 years old.
Her husband recently joined the Good party as a local councillor.
Party spokesperson, Samkelo Mgobozi, says Good’s leader, Patricia de Lille, has sent her condolences.
“Leader De Lille has said that ‘may strength, peace, love surround you and your family, Coach, as you go through this difficult time’”
Eastern Province Rugby President, Maasdorp Cannon, also expressed his sorrow.
“On behalf of Eastern Province, the executives, our members, the club and our supporters – we want to extend our heartfelt condolences to Peter and his family.”
