Capetonians have been thanked for their efforts in diligently reporting fires across the metro.

The City of Cape Town says over the last fire-season, it’s seen a marked increase in the number of public reports recieved at it’s control centre.

Fire Services Control Head Commander, Craig Cyster, say their centre operators have been getting up to 200 calls a day, helping speed up emergency dispatch.

Mayco member for safety and security JP Smith, says the public’s efforts to report fires early, not only prevents damage but saves lives too.
