Western Cape detectives have their hands full, getting to the bottom of the murders of two teenagers in separate incidents at the weekend.

A 15-year-old girl was killed in Kraaifontein on Friday evening.

The girl’s body was discovered at a house in Dorris Street.

On Saturday,  a 17-year-old boy was gunned down, while a five-year-old boy was wounded in Thames Avenue, in Manenberg.

Police spokesperson Sergeant Wesley Twigg says the victims were caught in the crossfire of a drive-by shooting.

“According to reports the victims were standing in the road when unknown suspects entered the road in a vehicle and started shooting. The 17 year old boy was declared deceased on the scene by medical personnel, while the year five-old boy was taken to a medical facility in a critical condition. Manenberg police registered murder and attempted murder cases for investigation”.

Meanwhile, Community Safety MEC, Reagen Allen has demanded swift action.

Allen says police must find those responsible quickly and that they should face the full might of the law.

” We can’t allow these criminal elements to torment our communities like this. It’s totally unacceptable that these heartless gangsters continue to torment our communities like this. They don’t belong in our areas as they add no value nor do they lift us or build our communities in a positive way, all they do is cause harm and pain”.
