The nature of murders in the Western Cape is currently in the spotlight.

There’s been a spate of killings by minors – and of mass killings.

And both trends continue this week.

A teenage boy has been arrested for allegedly murdering his mother in Nomzamo,  Strand.

It’s alleged that the 16 year old stabbed the woman on Monday.

And there’s also been another mass shooting in Cape Town.

Three men were shot and killed in Mfuleni on Tuesday.

A 4th man was wounded in the attack.

Police spokesperson Brigadier Novela Potelwa said, “Reports from the scene indicate that seven men were inside a shack in Intambane Street, Phola Park, when yet-to-be identified gunmen entered at approximately 23:40 and started shooting at the victims.
