Cape Town Police are still on the hunt for those responsible for the murder of a 15-year-old girl in Delft.

The incident happened in front of premises in Spitefire Street, The Hagueon on Tuesday.

She’s believed to have walked to the shop  – when she was hit by a stray bullet – after rival gangs opened fire.

The police spokesperson Captain Frederick van Wyk says no one has been arrested.

“According to reports SAPS members received a complaint from radio control, on arrival at the scene they found the victim laying on the ground on her stomach with a gunshot wound to her right shoulder. The suspects fled the scene on foot. The victim was transported by ambulance to a nearby hospital for medical attention. We’ve opened an attempted murder case at the time of the incident. She later died in hospital due to injuries sustained.  The attempted murder charge was then changed to murder”.
