Organised Crime Detectives have made a breakthrough in the investigation into the disappearance of Shireen Essop.

The suspect was arrested for possession of stolen property, which is believed to have belonged to Essop.

The 34-year-old mother from Manenberg was found more than two weeks ago, at a local petrol station.

She was reported missing on the 23rd of May, while driving home from work on Weltevreden Road in Browns Farm.

Provincial police spokesperson Novela Potelwa says the suspect will appear in court on Thursday.
