Student body, SASCO Tsietsi Mashinini Branch has welcomed Stellenbosch University’s decision to expel the student who was filmed urinating on the fellow student’s belongings.
Theuns Du Toit was kicked out of Maties with immediate effect following the conclusion of a disciplinary hearing.
He was found to have contravened several of the institution’s rules and values.
In May, Du Toit was caught on video urinating on Babalo Ndwayana’s belongings at the notorious Huis Marais.
SASCO chairperson Queen Majiki-jela says this should be a lesson to those who attack the integrity of others.
“We also appreciate the decision that the university has taken, it will also show potential racists or anyone who wants to perpetuate racism within the Stellenbosch University, that what they’re thinking of doing will be met with resistance”
