Police union SAPU is concerned about ongoing attacks on the men and women in blue.
Two constables were shot and killed, while responding to a house robbery complaint, in the Free State at the weekend.
This follows a similar incident in the Eastern Cape, on New Year’s Eve.
Constable Callan Andrews was gunned down in Gqeberha, on that day.
Two teenagers – aged 17 and 18 – have been arrested in connection with his murder.
Two days earlier, in Cape Town, another on-duty cop came under attack while on patrol in Eersteriver.
He was wounded in that shooting.
