The worst of the storm may be over, but the damage caused remains unfixed.
Several houses have been damaged during the recent inclement weather in the Western Cape.
Insurance company, Santam, says it has seen a rise in claims over the past few weeks.
The Santam’s Thabo Mabaso says over 2,000 claims have been received so far.
Mabaso says they’ve received claims for blown-off roofs, cars that were stuck on flooded roads and personal property that was destroyed.
He says they’re still assessing the damages and can’t confirm how much the claims will cost.
But he assures claimants that they will pay out.
