Taxi mother body, Santaco, has slammed the Provincial Government over its threats to shut down ranks and routes.
Route N18 is the cause of the conflict between associations Cata and Codeta.
That route includes areas such as Somerset West, Lwandle and Khayelitsha.
Yesterday, Mobility MEC Isaak Sileku said he plans to close the hotspots due to heightened violence.
He also said the province plans to interdict the two associations over the killings.
Santaco’s Makhosandile Tumana says government is the cause of the conflict due to regulatory failures.
He says rank closures and court interdicts will not solve the problem.
