Child HIV infections have decreased, but not considerably enough.

That’s the word of Trish Karlin from the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation, who says that there have been 130 thousand new child infections in the last year.

Karlin has spoken exclusively to Heart Fm News on the sidelines of the World AIDS Conference currently underway in Munich, Germany.

Meanwhile, Ramphelane Morewane, Acting Deputy Director General in the Health Department, says South Africa is implementing all measures necessary to combat the scourge.

These include investment into Pre-exposure prophylaxis, also known as PREP as well as educating the youth.
