The two students who broke the SASSA SRD scandal on Heart Breakfast, are rallying the Communications Minister.
Because … They’ve uncovered even more fraud.
This time, in the RICA system.
RICA is meant to ensure that all sim card holders are legally registered.
Yet, they’ve been able to fraudulently get e-sims on the Me&You Mobile site, using a maths assignment and company logo as their proof of residence and IDs.
Joel Cedras wants Minister Solly Malatsi to step in to ensure government’s systems are tightened, adding that they’d reported the matter to his department last month…
Yet, no action has been taken.
Heart FM News has also reached out to the Minister, to no avail.
Meanwhile, Me&You Mobile claims to manually verify credentials within 24 hours of issuing the e-sim.
That’s not the case here, as the students’ numbers are still active a month later.
