
Western Cape Premier Alan Winde says he wants to meet with President Cyril Ramaphosa after he failed to reply to his letter about the energy crisis.
Winde gave Ramaphosa until last week Friday the 27th of January, to share detailed information about the dark situation the country finds itself in.
And the President was also requested to outline plans to address the ongoing rolling blackouts.
The province wants load shedding to be declared a State of Disaster.
Last week, Ramaphosa met with Premiers and Mayors, but Winde said that meeting didn’t yield positive results.
He says if the President continues to ignore him, he will pursue legal action.
It is very unfortunate that President Ramaphosa has not at the very least noted my letter. This again shows there is no urgency being demonstrated by his government.”
The country just can’t seem to shake off the higher stages of power cuts.
Stage 4 rolling blackouts have now taken effect indefinitely after further generation unit breakdowns over the weekend.
