The West Coast District Municipality, in the Western Cape, says the weekend’s rainfall has been hampering mop-up operations in Malmesbury.
Officials have been busy with rescue operations, following the Thursday’s disaster.
Three dams had burst, resulting in flooding to properties in the Riverlands and Dassenberg areas.
More than 200 people have been relocated to local community halls.
The municipality’s Heinrich Robertson says their teams are working hard to restore municipal services.
Robertson adds that they’re still monitoring the local dam levels as more rainfall is expected.
