Cape Town police say no one’s been brought to book yet for the robbery at Newlands Cricket Stadium.

Armed criminals hit the stadium over the Easter long weekend, stealing TVs, booze and other items.

The Western Province Cricket Association says the glass doors to many of the stadium’s suites were also smashed.

It’s understood this is the third robbery at Newlands since 2015.

Police spokesperson, Andre Traut says their investigation’s well underway.

“This office can confirm that the circumstances surrounding a burglary at the Newlands Cricket Stadium during the early hours of Friday [the 30th] are being investigated.

The suspects fled with electronic equipment and are yet to be arrested,” adds Traut.
