Cape Town police are investigating three separate shootings that happened in the past 48 hours.
In the first incident, two men aged 29 and 41 were shot and wounded on Tuesday, while sitting in a car in Pecos Walk, Manenberg.
It’s believed that three gunmen approached them, randomly opened fire, and fled the scene on foot.
The two injured men were taken to a nearby hospital by private transport for medical treatment.
The same night — still in Manenberg — a 16-year-old boy was hit by a stray bullet, while cutting his hair.
It’s understood that the bullet penetrated the kitchen window and struck the teenager in the head.
He’s currently in hospital.
Police spokesperson, Frederick van Wyk, says the third incident relates to a teenager who was gunned down in Philippi on Wednesday.
“Philippi police attended to a complaint at a local hospital. At the hospital police was informed of the death of a 17-year-old male person who succumbed to gunshot wounds to his chest. A murder case was opened for investigation. The motive behind this shooting incident is unknown at this stage and it is yet to be determined if it was gang related.”
