
Western Cape Police have launched a man-hunt for suspects, after a man was gunned down while a mother and her young son were wounded in a drive-by shooting in Tafelsig over the weekend.
It’s understood that the vehicle’s occupants fired shots at the three victims in Langeberg Street on Saturday.
It’s alleged that the attack is gang-related.
The provincial police spokesperson Colonel Andrè Traut says a man died on the scene, while a 30-year-old woman and her four-year-old son were injured.
“Anti-Gang Unit detectives are probing the circumstances which led to the death of a 45-year-old male and the attempted murder of a 30-year-old female and her four-year-old son at around 11:15 in Tafelsig, Mitchells Plain. According to reports, a grey Hyundai SUV with male occupants opened fire at the three victims, and fled the scene. They are yet to be arrested. The mother and child were admitted to hospital for treatment”.
