Health authorities have responded to claims that an ambulance crew took several hours before attending to a sick patient in Eerste River.
Mada Piedt’s family called emergency services after 16h00 on Tuesday, but they say paramedics only arrived at their Heather Park home, in the early hours of Wednesday morning.
By then, Piedt had already died.
