Reaction has been streaming in following the appointment of Mandisa Maya as Chief Justice.
She takes the helm on the 1st of September, a day after Raymond Zondo vacates the post.
Maya is currently the acting Chief Justice and has a lengthy CV, having served in various courts, including the Supreme Court of Appeal.
Chairperson of Parliament’s Justice Portfolio Committee, Xola Nqola, has lauded Maya’s appointment as historic.
