The Paarl East community is hoping that arrests will be made soon in connection with the murder of a four-year-old child.

Mia Botha was laid to rest on Friday – two weeks after her body was found in a field.

Family spokesperson, Edgar Arendse, says the entire community is heartbroken.

“The death of baby Mia was a shock for the whole community, and it bring the community together. All the different political parties, even, they joined hands to unite in this case – to stand behind the family. The funeral was a very heart-touching moment for the community of Paarl.”

Last week, police appointed a new investigator to look into the case, and Arendse believes steady progress is being made.
