Overstrand Mayor, Annelie Rabie, says she and her council fully support the Special Investigating Unit’s probe into the municipality’s housing department.
Last week, the SIU started interviewing officials and residents.
The investigation is looking into corruption and maladministration involving housing officials.
In December last year, President Cyril Ramaphosa authorised the SIU to start the investigation.
It’s expected to be concluded by the end of next month.
Rabie says she hates corruption with a passion.
“I do not stand for any level of corruption, fraud, maladministration, underhandedness and anything that may cause the public to lose faith and interest in the business processes of this municipalities.”
