The gloves are off between Human Settlements Minister, Thembi Simelane and the George Municipality, over the collapsed building.
On Wednesday, Simelane released the findings of the National Home Builders Registration Council, which probed last year’s disaster.
34 people died when the five-storey building collapsed in May 2024.
The Council found that its officials manipulated their systems, in approving the project.
In addition, the investigation concluded that the building’s collapse was a result of systematic failures.
Simelane says the report also reveals that the municipality approved the building plan when the construction was already underway.
