TOP STORY: Mayor, Patricia DeLille says she’s taking her office to Cape Town’s communities.
She’s been visiting the Kewtown and Bokmakierie areas on Wednesday.
De Lille’s opened a “pop-up” office next to Athlone’s Busy Corner butchery.
This all despite the fact Council’s stripped her of her executive powers, and the DA wants her out.
Judgment in De Lille’s case against the party is reserved for now.
De Lille says her latest project is about opening a direct line of communication with Capetonians.
She tweeted: “In Kewtown where we have identified problems with cleanliness and the need for more refuse bins. We have logged a request for new bins to be delivered ASAP.
We will also look at creating more EPWP opportunities for residents in the area to be employed to clean,” says the Cape Town mayor.
