Alleged underworld heavyweight, Mark Lifman, is dead.

He was gunned down – in a hit – in George yesterday.

News Editor, Leigh-Anne Jansen reports…

It’s believed two people have been taken in for questioning, following the assassination of alleged underworld kingpin, Mark Lifman.

Police are yet to confirm this, though.

Lifman was killed in a hail of bullets outside the Garden Route Mall in George yesterday.

He’s, for long, been accused of shady dealings, including hits on other well-known alleged underworld figures.

He’d also faced paedophilia claims in the past but the courts had acquitted him of indecent assault.

He was due to appear in court today, along with suspected Sexy Boys gang leader, Jerome “Donkie” Booysen – in connection with the 2017 murder of so-called Steroid King, Brian Wainstein.

Lifman is also believed to have been behind the historic takeover of the night life security scene in and around Cape Town.

His murder leaves a power vacuum is that sector…with retaliation attacks expected to soar.

Prominent criminal defence lawyer, William Booth says the upsurge in violence we’ve been experiencing is unacceptable.

Booth, too, has fallen victim to an attempted hit on his life four years ago.

He’s urging the authorities to do more to quell the violence…
