It’s unlikely that the Reserve Bank will cut interest rates by more than 25 basis points.
That’s according to a Stellenbosch economist, ahead of the bank’s final Monetary Policy Committee meeting later this month.
South Africa is finally in an interest rate dropping cycle, following September’s 25-basis point drop.
But earlier predictions of a 50 basis point decrease now seem unlikely.
