The teenager who allegedly killed Magistrate Romay Van Rooyen near Muizenberg will return to court next month.
Eighteen-year-old Cassidy Hartzenberg abandoned his bail bid when he made a second appearance in the Simon’s Town Magistrates Court on Thursday.
The State alleges that on the 10th of September, Hartzenberg – who’s related to the victim – killed the magistrate at her Marina Da Gama home.
He’s believed to have stolen an undisclosed amount of money before he fled in her car.
Van Rooyen’s believed to have been strangled to death.
Hartzenberg is back in the dock on the eighth of November.
