Lesotho has extradited three of its nationals believed to be involved in a murder in Bonnievale, to face justice here.

In May 2019 , the body of a 55-year-old man was found at a pump house on a farm near the Winelands town.

A woman with serious injuries was also found nearby.

One suspect was arrested in connection with the incident a few days after it happened.

But in December 2021, police identified three people of interest – who were then arrested in Lesotho by authorities there.

Western Cape police spokesperson, Warrant Officer  Joseph Swartbooi says the suspects will appear in the Bonnievale Magistrates court on charges of murder and attempted murder.

“The process was concluded when the extradition of the suspects was finally signed off on Monday 25 April 2022. On Monday 25 July, the three suspects were extradited at the Maseru border, facilitated by Interpol where the warrant of arrest was executed”.
