Police say Khayelitsha is the hotspot for kidnappers to keep their victims.
A number of people who have been snatched in some parts of Cape Town over the past few months, have been rescued there.
They include businessman, Ismail Rajah in June.
A Chinese woman who was kidnapped in Bellville and eight-year-old Abirah Dekhta were also found in the suburb in November.
The police have confirmed that suspects have been charged in connection with the child’s kidnapping.
They will appear in the Wynberg Magistrates court on Thursday.
Police Minister Bheki Cele says local residents must help them and keep them informed of suspicious activity.
“People of Khayelitsha must help us. Those people that have been kidnapped are found in Khayelitsha including the young child. I’m told that there’s a woman who knew about the child being kept there”.
