Western Cape Police have obtained a confession from one of the four people implicated in the disappearance of Joshlin Smith.

Lourancia Lombard is the fourth accused in the case.

She was arrested last Friday and appeared in the Vredenburg Magistrates Court, on Monday.

The case against the 32-year-old has been remanded until next week Monday the 25th of March for bail information.

But, the State has indicated that it will oppose bail.

In court, it was revealed that Lombard allegedly told the cops about her involvement in little Joshlin’s disappearance.

But no further details were revealed during her first court appearance.

Her co-accused in this case is the child’s mother Raquel Smith, her boyfriend Jacquen Appolis and Steveno van Rhyn.

And while detectives have made good progress so far – the evidence has not brought them closer to finding the child who has now been missing for a month.

Meanwhile, Police Oversight and Community Safety MEC, Reagen Allen is pleading with the accused in the case – to disclose her whereabouts.

“ It is important that speculation and hearsay come to an immediate end. Our stance is clear that interference and blocking the investigation, any form of intimidation or politicisation of this matter will not be tolerated. Our sole focus should be to find Joshlin Smith”.
