The suspect arrested in connection with the murder of a 17-year-old girl in Hanover Park is due in court on Friday.
Jehaan Petersen’s mutilated body was found on an open field in the area last Sunday, and the 33-year-old suspect was taken into custody, two days later.
That, however, didn’t stop outraged community members on Wednesday – who resorted to a mob attack on two men they believe are involved.
Police only confirmed that two men were taken in for questioning that day and remain in custody while the investigation continues.
But according to Kashiefah Mohamed, of the Hanover Park Community Policing Forum, the community is fed up.
“We so fed up of all these killings, really… And I will mobilise my community to support Jehaan and her family into this murder case.”
