Police watchdog, IPID, has decided to classify a report into the murder of detective Charl Kinnear.
This is because senior officials are implicated in the report.
During a parliamentary session, police committee chairperson, Tina Joemat-Pettersson, ordered that the report be removed from the presentation.
Kinnear was shot dead outside his Bishop Lavis home, more than two years ago.
IPID’s Dikeledi Ntlatseng says several law enforcement agencies have yet to make their recommendations.
“One, we are investigating senior officers. Two, we have sent this report to NPA (National Prosecuting Authority) so that they can consider our recommendation. We have sent the report to National Commissioner to also act on those recommendations. We have not yet received any information from them, to say how far are they with the process.”
