Cape Town shelters are seeing an influx of clients during the storm that’s currently lashing the Cape.

The Haven Night Shelter says they’ve seen an increase in numbers since the rainfall started over at the weekend.

CEO, Shadrick Valayadum, says they’re creating more space to accommodate the homeless.

Valayadum says they’re also accepting walk-ins so that the homeless can get easy access to the shelters across the Cape.

But the homeless have told Heart FM News that checking in to a shelter is hard as they get turned away.
